Nepalese Foothills

Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen. Due to it's having very few roads (and those nearly all in Kathmandu, the capital) it has not been spoilt by tourism. From being a portrait painter and a specialist in still life, all I wanted to do in Nepal was paint it's ancient landscape. But even out there, in the middle of nowhere, I could suddenly find myself surrounded by countless fascinated little raggamuffins. Happily, although they crouded around me a little close for my comfort, they did so in awed silence, having never seen a painting in their young lives, let alone a painter creating one.
