Fanny At Work

England
2005

My drawings are all done in pen and coloured inks , sometimes with the addition of watercolours and even oils. They are so finely detailed that it usually takes 3-4 weeks, working 10 hours a day, to complete one work. One doesn’t normally see drawings of this size but I love to use these big 40” x 30” sheets of heavyweight watercolour paper because I can really let my imagination go wild without being hampered by the size of the paper. The large giclee prints of these images are the same size as the original work and with a 3” white border around they really make a statement!
The initial inspiration for a drawing usually comes to me like a bolt from the blue and from that point on I’m afraid I become very unsociable as everything gets put aside until the work is completed.
